- Powerful instruction set which provide operation like as
FEATURES OF 8086 MICROPROCCESOR
-
It has an instruction queue which is capable of storing six instruction
bytes from memory resulting in a fast processor.
-
It was 16 bit first processor having 16 bit ALU, 16 bit data bus result in
fast processing.
Support two modes of operation.
- Maximum modes.
- Minimum modes.
- Suitable for system having multiple processors.
- Suitable for system having single processor.
Available in 3-version
- 8086 5MHZ
- 8086 8MHZ
- 8086 10MHZ
It uses 2 stages of pipeline.
- Fetch storage.
- Execute stage with improve performance.
-
The fetch stage can pre fetch up to 6 bytes of instruction and store them in
queue.
- Execute stage execute these instruction one by one.
-
It consists of 29000 transistor comparison between 8086 and 8085
microprocessor.
- Size ----8085 is 8 bit ,8086 is 16 bit.
- Address bus -----8085 is 16 bit, 8086 is 20 bit.
- Memory 8085 can access 20 kb ,8086 is 1mb.
-
Instruction ---8085 don’t have any instruction 8086 have instruction queue.
-
Pipelining 8085 does not support pipelining but8086 support pipelining.
- 8085 cost is very low as compared to 8086.
